This type of art used to be the pride of the Royal Palace. MOP inlaid is the crystallization of Vietnamese wood carvings. With subtle shades and lines and ingenious combination between wood and shell, each product is the pride of owners because this is one of the top traditional Oriental art. To obtain the product in the picture, workers have to complete many steps. Firtly, they have to build the frame for vase form and wrap the frame by cloth. Then cover it with two coats with the mixture of lacquer and dough. Do it six times. Soak it in water to get frame out. Clean the product and paint the vase bottom. Do it four times, each time with one cloth and two painting coats. Then clean the product to be ready for the next step - inlay MOP. A product normally takes at least 2 months to be completed. The longer the time between two lacquer layers is, the more durable the products are. MOP suit luxurious space. The gloss of lacquer creates the depth to the product. Especially, lacquer products can last for decades to hundreds years under different climate conditions.To keep product shiny, polish it with dry cloth.
